Amish community

Today I cycled with company for the first time - James, who is on his gap year, and Andy, who is part of the charity ride. Both are from England!

The ride today was 55 miles, and the terrain was easy, just rolling hills and a lot of flat parts. The headwinds still persist though!

It is still very hot, but we finished by midday (although we crossed into Central time today) and have set up camp. I have there retreated inside for some food, A/C and the Euros!

Today I saw a lot of Amish people out on the road in horse-drawn carriages. It seems very interesting that they preserve their culture in the capitalist world of the USA.

Tonight I am staying in Rough River Dam State Park. I hope to cross into Illonois in the next couple of days - there is a small ferry across the Ohio River.

I have photos on my camera to upload, so I will try and do that asap. I need to get my grizzly tanned mug shot on this blog!
