To put the heat into perspective, a number of smart convertibles drove passed me today, but all had their roofs shut and A/C on! It is baking, and most of you know I am a little sweaty!
Tonight I have run into a charity ride of about 17 people, including two English. It is nice to have company at last!
The area here is a Catholic enclave, and I visited a Trappist monastary today. A Filipino monk, Fr Carlos, gave me refreshments, including homemade cheese and tea, and also a blessing. Regardless of religion, monasteies are always beautiful and calm places, and this was no exception. It was lovely to get out of the heat in a cool Abbey!
I am eating in McD tonight, but only so I could use Wifi!
I got caught in a brief shower this evening close to the intensity of that at France v Ukraine! Apparently there are storms in the mid-west, but will find out soon! Experienced my first real head wind today, but the terrain is easy going. Also the town are quite pretty now - I like Western Kentucky!
